About Chris Ziegler
My name is Chris Ziegler and I’ve been in business 25 years. I started out as a freelance photographer shooting weddings and portraits. I then mentored with a retired commercial photographer named Boots Stichler who inspired me with his photographic retouching abilities and hand-colored black and white photos (back then with pencils, dyes, air brushes and etching knives!). Since then, I’ve studied with many well-known photo artists and won several awards. At the same time, I started custom framing which came naturally to me. My focus had always been that of family and preserving memories by way of restoring old photos and making framed collages and shadow boxes. Although, I no longer work in the darkroom creating genuine black and white prints, I digitally retouch and have been framing just about everything, residentially and commercially.
I especially love making shadow boxes containing the old photos (or copies of) along with other treasured mementos. These projects get your precious memoirs out of the drawers and onto your walls, to enjoy gazing at and then pass onto the next generation. Shadow boxes are great for anyone downsizing! I have noticed that much art changes but family and memories never go out of style. You can trust me with your treasures. I am dedicated and trustworthy with many references upon request. If you are not sure what to do with your photos and precious pieces, browse my website for ideas. I have several samples of past projects to help you imagine the possibilities. Most objects of any kind can be framed. The cost depends upon the labor and materials required to complete the project. I look forward to working with you; please contact me today for a free estimate.
